Getting Back on Track
It is the last ten days of February and not only have I gone off plan...I lost the trail completely. I have had a lot on my plate and a lot of change in my professional and personal life. I knew that I did not like change but I had not realized how much change makes me feel insecure in my abilities. In the past, when I have felt insecure, I have wallowed in my food addiction. In the midst of my binge, I am in control. That is what triggers me...that perceived loss of control. I am in challenging but rewarding classes but I am not as secure in my studies as I want to be. My job has changed a bit and I have been been challenged to branch out in my position and make new connection. This introvert does not enjoy meeting new people so I feel uncomfortable and insecure. This has caused me to realized that I am more of a control freak than I realized. If I do not feel in control of the direction my life is going, be it professional, personal or educational, than I feel insecure in my abilities which triggers stress eating.
I set goals for February that I have abandoned after the 10th of this month when everything came to a head. So my goal for the last 8 days of this month is to try to get as close to finishing those goals as possible. My February goals were to lose 6.5 lbs, walk 95 miles, drink 2800 ounces and get in 16 8fit workouts. So far, I have not lost any weight, I have walked 66.71 miles, I have drank 2227 ounces of water and I have done 3 8fit workouts. So my plan is in the next 8 days to 3.6 miles a day, continue to drink 100 ounces of water a day, get in at least 1 8fit workout a day and hopefully that will allow me to lose 3lbs, which is half of my weight loss goal for Feb. I love that even though, I have not been perfectly on plan this month, I can still make at least 85% of my goals for this month. Just never quit.
